About How to Live
Nemonie Craven and Shahidha Bari are two London-based writers and academics, and the co-founders of How to Live, a project dedicated to producing essays, images and arguments for a practical philosophy for life. How to Live provides philosophical resources for those interested in asking vital questions about love, sex, art, literature, ethics, politics, friendship, war, violence, architecture, religion, walking, gardening, crying and laughing. Since its inception in 2008, How to Live has been a home for thoughtful engagements with contemporary life, artistic practice and current affairs, hosting work by artists Adam Broomberg and Oliver Chanarin, gardener and journalist Emma Townshend, writer Louise Stern and Professors Robert Eaglestone and Simon Critchley.
They are currently creating a philosophical guidebook for thoughtful readers seeking to create new maps of personal and political life. They hope to produce a modern day Baedecker for those curious to learn about how to live.
